Core Values
At Pareto, we believe in:
- Creating an environment that promotes and supports empowerment
- The success of one, being the success of all
- Continuous learning
- Quality of the highest standards in everything that we do
- Exceeding customer expectations
- Ethical behaviour
Our Goal
We will provide a sustainable long-term property income growth for our shareholders. The growth in property income will be achieved by optimising the use of existing properties through refurbishments and extensions.
While growing assets and income for its shareholders, Pareto is also fully committed to furthering black economic empowerment through preferential procurement. The company has already exceeded the property charter requirement of 70% procurement being channelled through black owned businesses.
Recent acquisitions in line with our investment criteria have been:
- Mimosa mall in Bloemfontein - acquired in October 2008. The mall is a regional shopping centre of about 37000m2 (Gross Letting Area) GLA. The deal was worth R800 million for 100% ownership.
- Pareto is currently in the process of acquiring a 50% stake in Cavendish Square (Cape Town) and Menlyn Park (Pretoria). The transaction valued at 2.5 billion is subject to various suspensive conditions.
Strategy
Pareto’s business strategy, as approved by the Board, has the following pillars:
- Maximising income returns from existing investments
- Growing the asset base
- Furthering black economic empowerment
- Enhancing human resources development
