Shareholders
Pareto Ltd has two shareholders: Eskom Pension & Provident Fund (EPPF), which owns 60% of Pareto, and Public Investment Corporation (PIC), which owns the other 40%.

Eskom Pension & Provident Fund
With over 30,000 members, the EPPF has assets exceeding R50 billion. The fund is governed by a Board of Trustees comprising seven members appointed by the Eskom Board.From the seven trustee members, two members are elected by pensioners, another two by non-unionised members, and the last three by trade unions.
Public Investment Corporation (PIC)

The PIC is an investment management company wholly-owned by the South African government. Founded in 1911, it became a corporation on April 1, 2004. It has assets of over R700 billion and is one of Africa’s largest investment managers.
With its largest client being the Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF), the PIC invests funds on behalf of various public sector entities. Other clients include the Unemployment Insurance Fund, the Compensation Commissioners Pension Fund and the Associated Institute of Pension Funds.
