Board Members
Pareto's Board of Directors comprises of two executive directors and ten non-executive directors. Pareto is a sleek, streamlined operation where each of the ten non-executive directors has an intimate knowledge of the property industry.
NON EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS
Saul Gumede - Chairman
Saul, Pareto's Chairman, completed his B Com in 1980 at Zululand and joined Old Mutual Properties in late 1985 as Accountant and left as Johannesburg Regional Finance Manager in 1990.
Saul rejoined Old Mutual Properties as Regional Investment Manager and later became Regional Property Manager for retail, office and industrial properties. He is presently Managing Director of Dijalo Property Services which provides property management and consultancy services to various landlords. ( Download full profile )
Younaid Waja
Younaid is a practising Tax and Business Consultant as well as a Chartered Accountant. In addition to a Higher Diploma in Tax Law he holds B.Com and B.Compt (Hons) degrees.
He is an Independent Non-Executive Director of the Public Investment Corporation Limited. Younaid also serves as a Director and Member of the Audit and Risk Committees of Imperial Holdings Limited. He is a Director and Member of the Audit Committee of Blue IQ Investment Holdings (Pty) Limited and Supplier Park Development Company (Pty) Limited. He is a Trustee of the Diabo (Telkom Employees' Share) Trust. He was a Black Business Council founding member and former Vice-President of the Association for the Advancement of Black Accountants in Southern Africa.
He is the Chairman and Senior Tax Partner of APF Chartered Accountants Inc. He was a member of the Income Tax Special Court. He served as a Director of Finance of the South African Tennis Association. He is also a former Chairperson of the Public Accountants' and Auditors' Board.
Erwin Rode
Erwin joined the Pareto board in April 2006 and is the country's leading expert in property valuation. He is the developer of the Rode House Price Index and founder of Rode & Associates, one of the largest valuation firms in SA. His experience in the field of property forecasting and valuating is unmatched in the industry.
He is also a non-executive director at Gatekeeper Asset Management Ltd Property Investment.
Sipho Mashinini
Sipho, an MBA graduate, is the CEO of NHBRC. He held Managing Executive positions at DEVCO and REAM (Real Estate Asset Management) at ABSA.
He was also Chief Executive Officer of Propnet (a division of Transnet) from 1998 until 2004.
Aman Jeawon
A chartered accountant by profession, Aman is Finance General Manager for Eskom Holdings Limited. He is a member of various Eskom Holdings governance structures and is widely experienced in financial, advisory, commercial, regulatory and fiduciary matters.
He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Eskom Pension and Provident Fund and is the Chairman of Eskom Finance Company (Pty) Ltd.
Nomavuso Mnxasana
Nomavuso is a Chartered Accountant and obtained her BCompt degree from the University of South Africa. After completing her articles, she spent a year at Deloitte & Touche before joining SizweNtsaluba VSP. During her tenure at SizweNtsaluba VSP, she specialised in consulting, internal auditing and the attest function. Nomavuso also started the corporate governance division which housed the internal audit services. She was involved in staff development and training as a staff partner for five years.
She left Sizwe Ntsaluba VSP as a senior partner and a member of the Executive Committee in 2006 to join the Imperial Group as Group Audit and Risk executive. While at Imperial, she has been responsible for implementing risk management both locally and internationally. Other board memberships include Optimum Coal, Land Bank, AIH, Winhold Limited, Nedbank Group, Schindler, Gundco Investments, Inmico Investments, Inmins Trading and Star Strider 126.
Matshepo More
Matshepo is a Chartered Accountant having completed her articles with Deloitte.
She is currently the Chief Financial Officer of the PIC.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS
Marius H. Muller
Marius was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Pareto in May 2010. He has been involved in the property industry since 1993. He is a professional member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and holds both B.Sc. (Q.S.) and M.B.A. degrees.
He has served on numerous industry bodies being RICS, SACSC, SAPOA, SAIBPP, ASAQS and SAIB.
Marius has an affinity for the retail property sector and has functioned in various related roles. These have included leasing, financing, project management, development management and asset management.
Prior to joining Pareto he was extensively involved with the listing of Resilient Property Income Fund on the JSE Stock Exchange.
During his association with the Resilient Group, he served as an Executive Director of listed property companies Resilient, Diversified, Pangbourne and i-Four, also holding the appointment of Managing Director at i-Four.
Nomzamo Radebe
Nomzamo is the Chief Investment Officer and former Financial Director of Pareto, having joined the company in May 2006.
She is a qualified Chartered Accountant with an extensive appreciation of the property industry, having completed various property courses.
She is in charge of the asset management function of Pareto.
She is also a non-executive director of Munich Reinsurance Company of Africa Limited and the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors.
Prior to joining Pareto, she worked in the National Treasury's Asset and Liability Unit where she monitored the performance of state-owned enterprises and gave advice on various strategic initiatives of such enterprises.
Between 2001 and 2004, she worked in Sasol's treasury unit as a Treasury Operations Manager, playing an important role in managing the company's treasury risks and developing treasury management systems. Nomzamo completed her articles with KPMG.
Reanne van der Merwe
Reanne joined Pareto in 2009 as the Financial Manager,and is currently Pareto's Chief Financial Officer. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant having completed his articles with Den Boer en van der Laan.
His previous work experience includes the Mangwanani Spa Group where he was the Group Financial Manager. In addition he spent many years working in the insurance industry at companies such as Regent Life Assurance and African Life Assurance Limited in various financial management roles.
