Vulnerable children are placed within a family environment where they receive unconditional love and care as well as a high level of education from the LIV school located on the property. The LIV Village aims to have 96 mothers and 580 children in residence by the end of 2012.

Leratong Hospital Upgrade:

Leratong Hospital, in Chamdor, Gauteng, is a 900 bed regional hospital that serves a catchment area of 1.5 million people. It has been described as one of the worst hospitals in Gauteng and as a result has lost many doctors and nursing staff. This is certainly true of many State Hospitals that are under equipped and in major need of renovations. Through the SA Medical & Education Foundation, an NPO dedicated to equal Health Care, Pareto assisted with the upgrade of the hospital's Emergency & Accident Unit as well as the reception and waiting area. Currently Pareto is assisting with the renovation of Leratong's Walk-in casualty unit which is extremely derelict and under equipped.

Straatwerk:

Straatwerk is an organization which focuses on the inner city 'outcast society' of Cape Town, which has lost hope and found itself trapped in undesirable lifestyles. It creates work opportunities for the homeless through their OPHULP project, which helps desperate and often destitute individuals to earn 'cash in hand' by means of honest, hard work as an alternative to begging, theft or criminal activities.

Vastfontein – Community Transformation:

Vastfontein is a rural community in the Hammanskraal area (Gauteng) which has many child-headed homes and very little available education for the community. The Vastfontein community programme has three primary aims – to care for orphans, to educate children and to equip tomorrow's leaders so they will be pioneers committed to achieving the best for their communities. The programme tackles community issues through group care homes each having a house-mother and 8 children. These children are cared for on a long term basis with a stable parent-like figure who provides physical and emotional care. The children in the care homes and the surrounding areas are also given top quality education at the Primary and Pre-Primary schools situated on the property. Training courses are also offered to adults and youth in the area after school hours.
